Our English Setter puppies are officially four weeks old, and this week has been full of exciting “firsts”! These little ones are growing fast, developing new skills every day, and—apparently—getting really good at escaping!
First Taste of Real Food
The biggest milestone? The puppies tried real food for the first time today! We introduced them to a mix of puppy formula and wet puppy food, and they loved it. They dove right in, making a messy scene, but the excitement on their faces made it all worth it. Watching them chow down for the first time was both adorable and a little bittersweet—our tiny babies are growing up!
Great Escape Artists
Speaking of growing up, these pups have turned into some serious escape artists! If we don’t lock the entrance to their whelping box, they’ll push it open and start exploring on their own. Every time we turn around, at least one of them is trying to make a break for it! It’s hilarious to watch, but we have to stay on our toes!
Playtime Fun
They’re getting more playful by the day, too. Their tails start wagging as soon as they see us, and they’re really starting to interact with each other, their toys, and us! Storm, their big brother, has been having the best time running circles around their pen, trying to get them to play. Lorelai, in particular, was determined to keep up with him today. It was the cutest thing, watching her bounce around, trying to follow every move.
Bath Time!
Another “first” this week—bath time! While the puppies weren’t exactly thrilled about getting their first baths, they handled it like champs. A few were a little unsure at first, but by the end, they were all clean and cozy. They may not love the water just yet, but we’re sure they’ll get the hang of it soon.
What’s Next?
With every week, these puppies are showing more of their personalities, and it’s been so fun to watch them grow. In the coming days, we’ll continue to focus on playtime and socialization, and before we know it, these little explorers will be running all over the place!
Stay tuned for more updates as we keep sharing their journey—there’s so much more to come!
